The Customer Moat

I am excited to share the very important Kickstarter campaign of a friend of mine: The Customer Moat. Eddie Sung has been working on this book for several years, and after painstaking edits and revisions, is finally nearing completion! I’m posting this partly for selfish reasons, as I am super proud to have helped out with the interior chapter illustrations, but also because the book itself is a concise, entertaining and ambitious project that I, as a small business owner myself, can’t wait to read in its entirety.

Eddie says:

The Kickstarter campaign is a great opportunity to purchase a copy at a great price, and a portion of each pledge will be donated to making the book available to community colleges and public libraries. NEVER – just a little movie about love

A couple of months ago at an art walk down in Pioneer Square I met Brett, a boy from California who was up in Seattle doing some filming for his independent movie. Cool, people make movies all the time, I thought. We talked about the possibility of me designing their official t-shirt. Fast-forward a few weeks and, after reading the script, seeing some stills and the pre-edited trailer, I fell in love. I can’t wait to see the final cut, and there is a kickstarter project up now in order to do color and sound design, as well as get it into the independent-film-festival circut. You can help make this happen!

What is NEVER?

Never is an independent feature film about Denim (Zachary Booth, of Ira Sachs’ Keep the Lights On and TV’s Damages), a twenty-something new to Seattle who falls in love with a struggling, gay singer-songwriter named Nikki (Zelda Williams, who starred alongside her father, Robin Williams, in House of D). But more importantly it’s about the way their resulting friendship blossoms, complicates, and ultimately redefines their understanding of sexuality and modern relationships.

The film co-stars Nicole Gale Anderson (from TV’s Jonas and Make It or Break It) and Angela Sarafyan (Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part II), featuring original music by Nora Kirkpatrick (of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros).
