New studio, new work

Whew! The move is pretty much complete, and I am experiencing just a little bit of culture shock. I’m in an apartment complex for the first time, just one little cube in a mass of thousands on the outskirts Denver. There is a complex next to ours that is called, and I’m not kidding – the Colony, and maybe I watch too much science fiction or am afraid of feeling like an insect, but it freaks me out just a little. This is a big city compared to Moscow.

Meanwhile, the studio is still in the process of being unpacked from boxes, and is a disaster, but when it’s a little better organized I’ll post pictures because for the first time ever it has a space of its own!! It is clean enough to get some sketching done, so here is some work from yesterday:

“tuck” ink on watercolor paper, 10″x8″

“shark bite” ink on watercolor paper, 10″x8″

“pinch” ink on watercolor paper, 10″x8″

Here is a drawing I’ve been working on for a while now; it’s still a work in progress but I think it’s going to be my submission for the Drawgasmic art exhibition.
